This wine is bright ruby red in colour, with purple hues. Aromas of ripe black cherry, violets and blackberries combine with notes of tobacco and sweet spice. On the palate, the wine has a smooth texture, with lovely concentration of flavour and silky, well-integrated tannins. Flavours of pepper and blackberries linger on the finish.
2018 was another very good vintage in the Northern Rhône. The growing cycle started early with a particularly rainy spring, increasing the threat of mildew. High temperatures during the summer raised the risk of drought, meaning that careful work was required in the vineyard to manage these difficult conditions. The 2018 wines are ample, voluptuous and generous with great liveliness and freshness.
