The season began with an early start, thanks to a mild winter and warm April. May was colder, with heavy rain during the flowering period. This resulted in poor fruit set, which mainly affected the Grenache. Gigondas was hit particularly hard, and yields were down by 45% compared to 2016. The rain stopped by early June and the rest of the growing season was warm and dry. 2017 has produced wines of great concentration and elegance.
